Senior year, Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) face the fact that they are separated and go in different directions. Along with the rest of the Wildcats, including Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel), Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu) and Taylor McKessie (Monique Coleman) prepares a spring musical which is reflecting their experiences and their fears. Troy cannot make a decision between basketball and art. Then the University of California offered him to study basketball and art. He decided to go to the University of California which is also closer to Stanford University that is where Gabriella Montez will go. Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) is facing Tiara (Jemma McKenzie-Brown) which poses as a harmless and cute girl who actually tries to downplay the role of popular and pretty girl approaching her to be her personal assistant.
